Bishop Floyd B. Brown, Jr., was born September 15, 1930 in Washington, DC. He received his formal education in the District of Columbia. He attended Boiling Green State University in Ohio & London Bible College in England. He was converted & sanctified, July 1951 at The Temple Church of God in Christ, where the late Bishop Samuel Kelsey was Pastor. In August 1951, he united in fellowship with the House of Prayer Church of God under the Pastorate of the late Bishop James P. Simms & received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in September of the same year.
Bishop Brown was called to serve in the U.S. Air Force October 8, 1951 and while serving his country, he was called to the ministry. He preached his trial sermon in the summer of 1955. God gave Bishop Brown vision of a church in Centreville, Virginia and on August 13, 1958, he preached his first sermon "I Don’t Have Kin Folk Religion".
He married the late Miss Marjorie Watts on March 8, 1952. They celebrated 65 years of marriage until the Lord called her home on August 29, 2017. To this union, three children were born: Floyd III, Ezora, and Eric Brown. He is the proud grandfather of five and great-grandfather of four.
Bishop Brown has dedicated his life to the service of God. He is the Pastor of The Church of the Blessed Trinity, Centreville, Virginia, past President of the Holiness Ministers Alliance of Washington, DC, VA, WV and MD and former Vice President of the Trinity Fellowship Coalition of VA, DC, and MD. He has a Doctor of Divinity Degree (D.D.) conferred by the Trinity Hall College, Springfield, IL and Doctor of Law Degree (LL.D.) conferred by Trinity Hall College, Louisville, KY. He received the Master of Arts (M A.) and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from North Carolina College of Theology, Wilmington, NC. Recently, he received a Ph.D. Honorary Degree of The Doctrine of the Church from the Institute for Christian Works Bible College and Seminary.
Bishop Brown, a loyal and devoted servant of God, has remained steadfast in good works, faith and determination for these many years. On June 15, 2018, he celebrated 60 years of serving as the Pastor of The Church of the Blessed Trinity and gave praise to GOD for this accomplishment.
